Paradise

A vast expanse of the splendid green
A beautiful reign of the majestic queen

A land of love where peace exists for true
The promises are kept, faith prevails in a moral hue

A government that needs no laws to operate
Rules are not made, still all are euponic & affectionate

Dreams are chased, its a dreamland
Everyone lives with honour in this hinterland

This is the Utopia
The seeker shall find it
This is Euphoria

A crown of snow-capped peaks in near distance
A harmony, no borders & no fence

Where love finds it way everywhere
Where rights are for all, life is without fear

Food served in platters of gold, devoured with a silver spoon
Money holds no value, life itself is a bliss, a boon

No language needed, no words uttered
Eyes reflect the thoughts, a language of love is deciphered

This is Heaven
Shall you find it out
Far from urbane inanity
This is wilderness with a unique sanity

Welcome to Kashmir...

Flash

Wandering alone, along the dusty road

Late hours, humming a dusky song..

        Routine thoughts, colorless life

        I feel a deja-vu every night...

Deadlines, chores, toil & drill, all on my mind

Scent of a woman, a reminiscent of a beautiful past..

A life worth living - a prophetic lie

Still, slogging, selling, killing - an unpredictable present...

A Flash:

Wisdom, when do you strike??

Random Swings

Do I have to confront you
It leaves me confused..

& if you aren't headed my way
I ain't really amused...

Living rave, feeling grave
Just stay, I'm not your game..

Step off, for I may use you
Vacate the skies, I'm shooting to fame...

Random swings,

Either you give in..

Or you give up...

The Indian Lady

Across the door, I used to see a pearl
There once lived a majestic girl
She had an enigmatic air
No one missed her elegant flair
I saw her bloom since her childhood years
Till she was a teen living without fears
Morning she slung her bag and went out free
Late night arrivals, she was out on a spree
     Living wild, living out
     Living chic, living loud

She lived her freedom, she loved her life
She was naive about the societal knife
She told her mother she was in love
She was turned down, she met with a rebuff
Her outings were axed, her movements confined
She wept alone, her parents were no more kind
She packed her bags, she gave up her home
Next morning she was away, now she was gone
     Living mild, living in humility
Craving a life, living like a liability

Now she had a life & it was pristine
But for a blink, then it lost its sheen
Husband, kids, in-laws & daily chores, it was all she had
No shoulder to lean on, no one to look upon when she was sad
Generating money, sustaining a home & a wrinkled face
Exhausting herself, with charred skin & a subdued space
One night she died, & everyone cried, now who'd do the furnace, who'd cook the rice
I thanked the divinity, good God she passed away, her life was a duel between happiness & sacrifice
Succumbing to situations, sinking in the mire
A lady like her, we see everyday blazing in our tangible desire

     She was an Indian lady...

DAYS OF MY YOUTH...

I opened my eyes to a fiendish sight
No scope fer prudence, 'twas a melancholic plight
A myriad of brutals in a melee, jus to give a fight
I closed my eyes, in my slumber, i took a flight...
'tis my destiny
'tis my life
I dont care fer a troubled childhood
I didnt give it a strife...
Left alone, wandering aimless, sinking low, thinking profound
Wondering how, amazed, amused, then hit by an eccentricity that left me astound
The rage died, fires extinguished, slunk in the Slough of Despond, i hit the ground
No one cares, no one knows, i lay down, they dont hear my wimpy sound...
My early years
The gruesome fears
Quietly i shed away those tears
Hiding from my closest peers...

WORKING MAN!

How often do we smile
How often do we pray
Using the guile
Not concerned about being led astray
Compromising with norms of the society
Running around with pointless fears
Our actions depict deep anxiety
No more love, we're left with only tears

We're the society

We're the disciplinarians
I'm the working class...

No more dancing in the rain

We hear no hymns, no yogic chant
Treating our life with disdain
Intensifying our miseries rampant
The festivities are gone
The celebrations seem far away
We're drinking our glories alone
And alone we're getting old, turning grey

We're the corporates

We're the diplomats
I'm a working man....
